Bergen Bluffs features a southern oak forest on and below the bluff slopes. Park at a wayside/scenic overlook on STH 35 between Stoddard and Genoa.
There are no trails to be found at Bergen Bluffs aside from the occasional deer trail, so the degree to which you explore this site is really at your discretion. I turned around when I felt like I could not safely go any higher. The morning is probably not the best time to visit Bergen Bluffs, as the dew increases the slickness of every surface that you are either trying to hang onto or put weight on. The forest contained a little bit of everything: large trees, interesting fungi, scenic rock outcrops, and cool green mosses. I would not mind poking around these slopes a bit more, perhaps trying to reach a bit higher than I did on this day.
