Coon Creek Cliffs, SNA #201 (218/675)

Coon Creek Cliffs encompasses a series of north-facing and seeping cliffs rich in mosses, liverworts, and ferns.  Park along Jore Road, east of CTH P.  The natural area lies south of the road.  Take care in moving through the site as conditions are typically slick at any time of the year.

Water was freely dripping, seeping, and flowing from the cliffs at the time of my visit, making for some very interesting and trying exploration conditions, not to mention a less than ideal photographic situation.  That said, it is a very interesting landscape to behold. Despite the lack of showy wildflowers, the green-dominated scene was quite the sight.  I was slightly time-limited during my visit here and so I certainly look forward to a more thorough exploration.

More of my photos (and full-res) from Coon Creek Cliffs can be viewed here.
